And for Simon, they did!
While speaking with Simon’s nurse, A, today, she told me that his belly was quite big and firm. The rest of the details included weaning Simon’s oxygen down from the 60’s and 70’s to the 50’s, running lab work, chest x-ray results and the like. Simon is back on antibiotics to fight the infection going on, chest x-ray looked better and all of his blood tests were coming back much better following the transfusion he got last night. All in all, headed back towards the right track.
After shift change, I spoke with his night nurse, K, who let me know that nothing had really changed. She did have information to pass on from the doctors in regards to the question I did have today concerning Lasix. She then mentioned that she forgot to get Simon’s weight during his 9 pm cares as there was an explosion that occurred in his diaper. Yes, my son has officially had the first explosive bowel movement that all parents dread. Fortunately, I wasn’t the one to change his bedding. Although, I must admit, I wouldn’t mind if I had been there to clean the messes up. He is my child, after all.
Stumble It!
Isn’t it funny how we can admire these ‘explosions’ at this point in Simons ‘game’.
You won’t be so keen on them in a few months time. LOL
Your title did have me alarmed at first.
Peace Profound

LOL! Let them clean it up this time. You’ll get a chance all too soon!
LOL! Yay! It’s great to hear he is doing better. But remember when he gets home, I’m sure u will have lots of explosions to clean up. You will get your time. Although, I know it’s probably very sad to miss.
I was worried what this blog post would be about seeing as the title wasn’t exactly expected.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Catherine
You’ll have plenty to clean up in due time!
Simon is full of surprises. Haha.
